The Election Results Are In – Now What?On Tuesday, November 4th the nation choose the 44th President of the United States. Now what? To look at his Resume one has to wonder just how effective can someone of so limited experience ever manage something so complex as being the President of a nation under siege from so many issues. Any one of these issues is going to require full time attention and energy by everyone from the top down. Any misstep in any one of the problems facing America in the next four years could have the 44th President of the United States looking for work elsewhere, as well as, any number of other elected officials. The issues are immense. The economy was the number one issue for voters, followed by the war, the real estate catastrophe, jobs, health care, education, not to mention taxes. If any one of these has to be addressed at the outset it has to be the economy. The best guess as to how long it will take to get the economy back to some kind of equal footing by scholars from all segments of our society is late 2009 and maybe not until sometime in 2010. That’s two years away and leaves not much time to address all of the other problems and concerns on the minds of the American consumer. And can you focus on the primary concern without addressing one or more of the other issues at the same time? Probably not and having to address several issues at the same time is going to cause a push-shove effect. If not handled skillfully the outcome could be sending one or more of these problems further into a black hole far beyond 2010.
