Wednesday is April 1 or as it's commonly known as "April Fools Day."

It's also the season premiere of season 9 of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV.

But before the latest bunch of UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) hopefuls get camera time for taking the premise of The Real World with 10 times more booze and testosterone, we'll have Ultimate Fight Night Live to give us some action in the cage.

If you've not seen the show it's basically gives us what we all wish would happen on every other reality show.

There's the standard issue assortment of idiots and jerks and a few nice guys and at the end of all the stupidity someone gets a chance to shut someone up with their fists and they don't get in trouble for it.

This season has a patriotic flair to it as it will be Team USA, coached by former US Olympic wrestler Dan Henderson, against Team UK. The coach of the United Kingdom is season 3 winner Michael Bisping.

The two coaches are among the top middleweight fighters around.

Henderson is a former middleweight and light-heavyweight champion in the former Pride FC organization in Japan. He held those title simultaneously.

Bisping has been on a tear since dropping from light-heavyweight (205) to middleweight (185).

The two coaches will meet in the Octagon in July at UFC 100 to determine the next No. 1 contender for the UFC middleweight title.

So enjoy the fights at 8 p.m. and then the reality show at 10 p.m.
