Does Dixon's fate lie in the hands of a homeless man?Grand jury selection into the arrest of Anderson County Councilman Ollie Dixon began on Thursday. Dixon was arrested for drunk driving and taken to the Madison County Jail where he was later found to have a gun. Special prosecutor J.A. Cummins said Thursday he plans to call seven witnesses: six deputies from the Madison County Sheriff's Department and a man named Phillip Schuyler. It seems Schuyler was the man in Dixon's cell who alerted jail officers when the gun emerged. According to jail records, a Phillip M. Schuyler was booked into the jail on March 28, the day Dixon was arrested. He was listed as 48, homeless and under suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Court records show an Indianapolis address for Schuyler, who has received speeding tickets in Hancock, Madison and Kosciusko counties.
