"Muskrat" information, courtesy of Charlie Adams

Hey John:
Please inform your photog, Don Knight, that the critter in the pic is not a muskrat. It is a groundhog, otherwise known as a whistle-pig, pasture poodle, or woodchuck. It is a rodent in the family of sciuridae, sort'a like a gigantic chipmunk.
Muskrats, while still being rodents, are a whole 'nuther critter. They are a large aquatic rodent, in the family of ondatra zibethica, and are related to lemmings and voles.
Yer ol' bud from the BSU, Orient.
