- Indiana E-85 grant
-John Connell, of the city garage, spoke with the board about installing an E85 fuel site in Anderson.
Jay Berry, from the CIE ethanol plant in Marion, Ind., approached Connell about a grant opportunity from the state in which the city could get $20,000 for the installation of a fuel site. Another grant opportunity allows any vehicle that uses 75 percent of E85 as fuel can get $44 back each month, up to about $400. However, the vehicles cannot be more than five years old, Connell said.
Also, Connell said, there was a program with a vendor for municipalities to get $100 off of conversion kits for vehicles to use FLEX fuels such as E85.
The board approved Connell to proceed with the grant process.
